Yggdrasil Gaming is well known for its fantastically designed games and Vikings Go to Hell is no exception. The game starts with an amazing 3D animated video showing the Vikings on their descent to hell, battling various demons on the way. The reels themselves are set in an elaborately carved stone structure complete with runes against a backdrop of the fiery rocks of hell. To the left of the reels are rage meters for each Viking, which are explained below, and an exciting soundtrack accompanies the game.
All of the slot’s symbols are thematic. The four high value symbols are the Vikings themselves, most easily distinguished by colour, red, purple, green and blue. The lower value symbols include a sword, a hammer, an axe, and a bow and arrow. There is also a large gold Wild symbol and a free spins symbol featuring a demon.
Bonus Features
The slot is packed with bonus features. Landing three, four or five of the Free Spins symbol anywhere on the reels awards 7, 12 or 16 free spins respectively. On each spin, all Viking symbols on the reels will fight a demon and if they win, then that position becomes a sticky wild for the rest of the spins. Furthermore, one rage point is added to that Viking’s meter.
After each spin in which a Viking lands on the reels, there is also a battle between a Viking and the Lord of Chains. Three hits will defeat him, after which the Viking will turn into a sticky wild and the Lord will become two sticky wilds. You then begin Level 2 free spins with seven spins.
In Level 2, you are fighting Lucifer after each spin, and once again, three hits will defeat him. The Viking then becomes a sticky wild and each successful hit will put another sticky wild on the reels. If you manage to defeat Lucifer, then any Vikings that land on the remaining spins instantly become sticky wilds.
In the base game, the treasure chest symbol can only land on the fifth reel. When it does, it will spin to reveal an Epic or a Good tablet. An Epic Tablet can award:

- 30 rage points for all Vikings

The Good tablet can award:

If there is a spin on which just two Free Spin scatters land, all the Vikings on the reels will fight a demon. If the Vikings win, then a point is added to the Viking’s rage meter and the symbol becomes a sticky wild for a free respin. Once the rage meter is full, the Bezerk Free Spins begin. Players are awarded 7 free spins during which the Viking will always win the fights.
