Richard Bates

Richard has always been a lover of gambling and started visiting casinos as soon as he turned eighteen. Around the same time, Richard started studying law and online gambling began to become more commonplace. It wasn’t long before these two interests converged, and Richard began paying more and more attention to the legal aspects of the gambling industry, both online and offline. Since then, Richard has spent a great deal of time working to ensure that casinos uphold the legal standards set by regulators and at the same time, working to create more transparency for players and to bring them more information.

Gambling regulation is a vastly complex area, with each country having its own laws, and while Richard knows that he cannot remain completely up to date, he does his best. Richard focuses on online gambling laws, particularly within Europe’s regulated jurisdictions. He uses his knowledge to ensure that casinos are safe and fair places for players and will do his best to raise awareness when a casino fails to meet its legal requirements.

Richard still does his best to visit casinos whenever he possibly can and once a year he will go on holiday to one of the world’s top casino resorts, whether in Vegas, Macau, or anywhere else. He is also passionate about food and loves preparing meals for his friends and family. While originally from the north of England, Richard now lives in the Hertfordshire countryside where he enjoys the beautiful scenery and the easy train journey’s to London’s top casinos.
